Description
This photo features the iconic Chimes Tower in Longwood Gardens. The Chimes Tower is home to a 62-bell carillon and offers a commanding view of the surrounding gardens. Longwood Gardens is located in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania and is comprised of six separate garden districts covering nearly 200 acres. Longwood Gardens was founded by Pierre S. Dupont in 1907 on the site of Pierce’s Park. Following DuPont’s death in 1954, the Longwood began its transformation from a private estate to the grand public display that it is today.
