Description
This scene features Vickery Creek as it runs through Old Mill Park in Roswell, Georgia. The far bank of the creek displays a rare coating of ice, as the Atlanta area experiences an unusually cold winter. The ruins of two textile mills of the Roswell Manufacturing Company are located in the Old Mill Park. With construction of the mills completed in 1839 and 1853, the Vickery Creek waterfall, just upstream, supported the mills as they supplied a variety of products for the growing town of Roswell. Destroyed by the Union Army during the Civil War, the mills were subsequently rebuilt and served their community until 1926 when they were destroyed by fire. The building pictured to the left is part of the mill that was rebuilt in 1882.

Thanks Richard! I'm glad that you like it. The rocks and fast-moving water make Vickery Creek perfect for long exposures. It's a great place at sunset.
