Description
This photo features richly colored boulders pockmarked with the remains of countless oysters that have been harvested by nearby residents. In the background, an onlooker sits on hands and knees as the stone Huaxing (sounds like Wa-shing) bridge arches gracefully over rocky coastal terrain of Rongcheng China's southern coast. Shortly after I took this picture, the young man and several of his friends approached me with their own cameras to talk about photography. We had a great time chatting and exchanging Instagram information as the sun set in this magical seaside location.
Rongcheng is a prefecture level city at the far East end of Shandong Province, and is bordered by the Yellow Sea on three of four sides. Well known in the region as the winter home for migrating swans, Rongcheng is a popular vacation destination in Eastern China.
