Description
A rainbow arch bridge spans across a gently flowing Cottonwood River, surrounded by a cold winter landscape with bare trees and barren river banks. The structure's warm tones contrast with the cool, serene atmosphere of the river's gently flowing water.
This scene was captured using a long, 30 second shutter speed to collect the last of the day's ambient light and the faint glow of nearby street light, and to add a smooth glass-like texture to the surface of the river.
Completed in 1923, the Soden's Grove Bridge is the oldest dated Marsh rainbow arch bridge in Kansas. This historic bridge is no longer used for vehicle traffic, and is open to the public 7 days a week to enjoy scenic views of the river and waterfall below.
