Description
This photo features the Veteran’s Memorial Bridge, commonly referred to as the Wrightsville Bridge, which connects Wrightsville and Columbia, PA. Carrying Pennsylvania Route 462 across the Susquehanna River, the Veteran’s Memorial Bridge is dwarfed by the larger Wright’s Ferry Bridge, located just up the river. With construction completed in 1930, the bridge spans a distance of just over 5,000 feet, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The bridge is also a National Historic Civil Engineering Landmark.
I took this photo at sunrise on the Columbia side of this spectacular bridge. I used a long exposure to capture the soft, magical early morning colors and smooth water of the Susquehanna.
