Description
Surrounded by lush green trees, the clear waters of Vickery Creek cascade over the worn stones at Old Mill Park in Roswell, Georgia.. The park is home to the ruins of two textile mills of the Roswell Manufacturing Company. With construction of the mills completed in 1839 and 1853, the Vickery Creek waterfall, just upstream, supported the mills as they supplied a variety of products for the growing town of Roswell. Destroyed by the Union Army during the Civil War, the mills were subsequently rebuilt and served their community until 1926 when they were destroyed by fire.
